Heya everyone! It's Mary again with another blog. There's a few things I want to address, so here goes nothing.
First things first, thank you all for the loving reactions to the Flandre doll video! I worked really hard on that project, so to see nothing but positivity from you guys means the world to me. That doll took a lot out of me, it felt like finishing her took part of my soul, haha. So I think a break is warranted. I bought a big shelf to put her on but it hasn't come in yet. So she's just kinda crammed in with all my other junk on top of my hamster cage... oops. She'll be on display soon, don't worry.
But going forward, what comes next? I know I said I wanted to take a break, that's a given. But I specifically mean a break from doll making. I want to continue making videos. I have 2 planned for this month in fact! Given I finish them on time. I've had a ton of hours at work so I have very little time to do all the Youtube stuff I want to get done. But regardless, expect 2 new types of series on my channel very soon!
First video is going to be Pokemon related. I've been working on it the past week but it's a very intensive video in terms of the amount of editing it requires. It also requires a bunch or original art assets since its featuring my girlfriend and close friend. I've been working on the first 5 minutes for like the past 5 days! I think it's going to be a really fun video so I want to take my time with it! Going forward I want to do more like it, so I hope this video goes well with you guys given it's something different.
Second video is also something non doll related, but is kind of riding off a trend I've seen other crocheters do recently. I see some other content creators make videos around what kind of projects they can make using only dollar store yarn. I want to make a small series, 3 to 4 episodes exploring this concept myself! I recorded the footage and got the materials I need for the first episode, but I haven't actually started the project itself. I've been working on a birthday gift for a friend the last few days, so I haven't been able to start it. But as soon as I finish, my next big crochet project will be that!
So yeah! That's what I've been up to personally. Just doing a lot of work for a part timer at Aldi, but at least the money is good. Gives me more budget to work with for my videos! I want to invest more into them, but I don't know if I can justify doing huge expensive productions unless I become a Youtube partner myself in the future. Anyway, that's largely what I wanted to address in this blog. Time to get back to work! Bye bye.
