My Magnum Opus

 Hello everyone! It's Mary from Binkie and Biscuit again with another blog post. I know, I know. I just posted one like 2 days ago. But that mostly served as introduction, and I have more I'd like to talk about for the future of the channel! 

    So first things first, let's talk art. As you may know, I ended up outsourcing the talk sprites for Biscuit to another artist after my first video with the Evelyn doll. I love to draw but, editing, making the doll, and making the art all felt like too much and a burden on me. Just spread me too thin on that video and as a result I felt some of the quality was lacking. But part of me still regrets that decision. I want my videos to capture all I can do creatively. So I made the executive decision to delay my next video a bit to work on a whole new set of sprites! I'm not going to crunch for time so I can avoid spreading myself thin, and allow myself to tweak details to keep up the quality. 

    But not only will I be updating the sprites with my own art, but I will be making them semi animated as well! I feel making assets move like the eyes and mouth just add that little touch of life normal sprites lack. It's a small detail, but it just adds so much more. This will take me some preliminary work time but after that's done, it shouldn't take much extra effort to include in my videos. I just think it'll be really worth it!

 The next video is going to be a big one. I tried a bunch of new techniques, and had to detail the doll very heavily. I've talked about it before but, I made Flandre Scarlet from Touhou. The doll itself is done, I finished her up yesterday. But I have yet to do her photo shoot or start the video. And it's going to be a bit before the video posts with all the work I have to do for it like I've said. I have to sift through like 200 gigabits of footage, haha. I hope you guys understand! I'm sure you'd prefer to wait and have a better video in the long run anyway. 

    I'm so happy with the progress on these sprites and the doll is by far the best one I've made yet! I plan on taking her out for some photos today. It just snowed in my town, so hopefully I can get some nice pictures of her playing in the snow. With how everything has been going, I can only assume they're going to come out great!
